Confessions

I must get some things off my chest:

Yesterday morning I made mac n cheese for Curly's lunch. I gave the rest to BabyGirl for breakfast. I may have had a few bites myself.

The kids wanted a chocolate egg. I told them they were gone. They asked who ate them all. I told them "Daddy did." He didn't.

I have given up Diet Coke very successfully. That didn't stop me from finishing up the little bit that was left after Peanut's party. It was equal parts awesome and gross.

Peanut is taking her nap buck naked, save the Dora stickers she stuck to her belly. I told her it was too cold, but she didn't care. I decided not to care either and just piled her with blankets. It's California...she won't freeze to death, right?

I don't want my son to go to Kindergarten next year. I'm fine with Peanut being 3 now, but StinkyMan turning 5 is freaking me out. He's my baby boy!

I actually don't love putting my kids in bed. I love them being in bed, but getting them there wears me out. I audibly sigh with relief when I close the last door of the last kid after the last "sleep tight." Some moms love the story and snuggle time. I'm not one of them. I love the end result more.

I'm going to a girls retreat in 2 weeks for basically 5 days and I haven't told Curly. She'll be nothing but drama about it until I go and I don't want the guilt. But I also feel guilty about not prepping her. I'm not sure I can win this one.

I love losing weight, but I think I love chocolate more.

Ahhhhhh. I feel better already.

  1. Gosh, I think you have just spoken for most women in America today. Your honesty has given us all the freedom to be honest with all of our secrets. Thank you.

I will start....I watch The Biggest Loser every Tuesday night and eat a small bag of M&Ms while doing it. There, I said it. :o)

  2. Well I feel better too! I'm with you on all of these. I don't see anything wrong with macaroni & cheese for breakfast or the fib about the chocolate. I especially love that you already have chocolate eggs and it's... I was gonna say February but it's March. I would brag and say that I have successfully dodged the Easter section but that's only because I'm still hitting the Valentine clearance section. (Now I'll just feel really stupid if you tell me the chocolate eggs were left over from last year or something.) The fact that Alyssa is going to Kindergarten is KILLING me. I wouldn't feel bad about telling Curly yet. You remember how much longer everything seemed to take when you were a kid? So if you tell her two hours before you leave, that's like two weeks in kid-time. I'm going to have some chocolate now. Thanks for sharing.

  3. I didn't realize StinkyMan was going to kindy this fall -- Wy is too. I'm excited (for the decrease in daycare costs), nervous (because I'm not sure if he's ready), sad (he's THAT big already????) and guilty (he'll be one of the youngest in his class...)

And I'm not a huge fan of the bedtime routine either. By the time it rolls around, I'm more tired than they are and I just want them in their beds QUIET.

I think I'll pick up a bag of M&Ms over lunch...
